Letter from the Editors- Winter 2022

Dear Reader,

Welcome to the Winter 2022 Issue of Epic Magazine! While Epic is typically distributed in print, with copies found in what seems like every corner of campus, it has truly been a pleasure to see the magazine come to life digitally and to dive into the creative, inspirational works you have all shared, works that have brought so much light in a time of great uncertainty.

Despite having to jump back into a jam-packed school year with innumerable commitments resuming after last year’s lack thereof, you were willing to share your poetry, creative writing, narratives, studio art, and more through Epic Magazine and for that, we are extremely grateful. Now more than ever, this collaboration, which allows us to share our artistic and literary creativity, is much needed in order to foster community and to provide an oasis where we can focus on all of the beauty in the world. So again, we thank you for being vulnerable and bold by simply submitting your creations to Epic. By doing so, you are opening the door to a more hopeful future while we still remain in an unsettled present.

We would like to extend a big thank you to Mckenzie Campbell ’23 and Saanve Bathula ’24 for all of their hard work on the website even with midterms looming; this issue would not have been possible without the both of you! We would also like to express our sincere gratitude to Ms. Frye, Epic’s faculty advisor, for her support, guidance, and wisdom throughout this entire process.

We hope that you enjoy diving into the amazing works of the Winter 2022 Issue of Epic and that, above all else, you find sources of inspiration, appreciation, and hope within each piece.

Warmly,

Emma Levinbook ’22, Senior Editor

Chayse Shamleffer ’23 Junior Editor
