“Change” By Ava Marseglia

By Ava Marseglia ’26

The wave said to the shore,

I remember you…

Your plastic waste, polluted water, oil drainage, fertilizer

I remember you…

Your forest fires, cities, landfills, incinerators

I remember you…

Your urbanization, population, industrialization

I remember when you poisoned the air, reaching the purest mountain peaks

Your synthetics, particulates, ozone

Heating up the planet

I remember you…

When you asked at the end, “What can we do?”

And at the last minute, I answered you.

You Changed.
