“No More” by Norah Pond

Winner- Best Poetry

I am a Ghost
A mere Shadow of the past.
I supported, strengthened, shaped You
But Good things cannot last.

I built You up from nothing,
Gave you Anything you please.
But New England’s boldest, Strongest voice,
Is now a feeble Wheeze.

The pure Baby that would babble,
Who was healthy as a Horse,
Is but a Picture of long ago,
Exiled with no Remorse.

My entire Life was spent
Creating a Better one for you,
Yet as I sleep, you sweep my feet
From under me and I fall through.

Down past days of rushing glee,
Past reflections of sun at dawn.
Plunging through my memories,
Eternal reminders of what is gone.
