The Connecticut River is a leaf.
The way she flows farther and farther down.
Feathery and light, dark and gloomy.
A mix of both, the best and the worst.
The River is bright as the sky.
Lovely and bright, ready to help.
Full, brimming to the top.

boiling and moving.
The river is as aggressive as an animal.
She is ancient and fragile.
